Port Moody Summer Update

Let’s catch up on the High Season we’ve been experiencing.  First we want to thank everyone for choosing Mainstay Oasis.  You have enjoyed one of our unique cozy rooms, shared in an interesting exchange at the breakfast table or soaked in solitude by the waterfront.

This year has been a hot one.  So hot in fact, there was an article about a local Vancouverite who has been cultivating a banana tree for the past three years and it finally produced this year.  What does that say about the kind of season we have had?  Tropical trees like our Magnolia and Windmill Palm have soaked in the sun and flourished. It was something else, that’s for sure.

From far and wide we saw many visitors from the UK, France, Winnipeg Quebec and all sorts of places throughout the US.

Lots of our visitors created special memories over local weddings, family reunions — it would seem we have a mini baby boom in the area with grandparents visiting their new bundles of joy.  On a side note, any returning guests when booking online will receive a reduction.  Just mention the date of your previous stay in the Comments box when using WebReserve and we will adjust your payment balance upon arrival.

We continue to strive to offer the best service we can to those visiting the Port Moody area. We proudly  announce that along with being part of BC’s Innkeepers Guild, BC Tourism, we were also featured in the notable magazine Edible Vancouver’s BC Wine Touring Travel Kit for 2017.

From one of our guests go into labour while out for dinner to a bear watching tour with some lovely European guests, life is full and never dull at Mainstay Oasis.  Much appreciation for sharing your adventures with us.
We always look forward to updates from our guests so drop us a line or stop in for a coffee.

Your Port Moody Host,

Mary Ellen

All Sorts of New for a New Year 2017

We are pleased to announce that along with the New Year 2017, we are also ushering plenty of newness.  The 2016 year brought about a new family member to the Hagglund clan: our very first grandson.

Along with learning the ropes of being grandparents, all the renovation projects are complete. I will not miss the sifting, the sorting phase for sure. I had the pleasure of redecorating with a modern twist.  Now all of our bedrooms are suite-r than ever.   Okay, I’ll keep the bad puns to just that one.

Adjusting and redesigning has its place in our lives.  Now onto announcing the Grand Opening of the Evergreen Line Sky train expansion.  Its connections brings guests travelling from the Airport and all the many communities including Vancouver, to Port Moody and within 5 minutes from our B&B. Mainstay Oasis is now open for the busiest year ever!  We look forward to your bookings in 2017.

Don’t forget tea parties are still available too!
Warm wishes,

Mary Ellen

Baby Moon: Love is in the Air

We meet a variety of guests coming and going who have unique stories to tell at the breakfast table.  Their life experiences are remarkable and the ability to share even in a morsel is a treat for us.  Especially when it comes to a baby moon.

Everyone Loves Savings

One particular story stands out this year.  We’ve seen a rise in ‘baby moons’.  For Vancouver couples who couldn’t actually travel too far, booked at The Mainstay Oasis for a variety of reasons;  use of the ocean front pool during the hot temperatures, close to (30-40 min.) Vancouver, quiet near amazing beaches, lakes and hiking trails.
They were delightful to connect with. One couple specifically came within week(s) prior to welcoming their first child.  She was sooo… ready to have the baby and her spouse was just brimming with anticipation.
‘Couple time’ right before baby is born is like a little ‘staycation’.  We truly recommend this for anyone in the Lower Mainland that is looking for a unique little getaway gem, nestled on the East side of Vancouver.

If you need a local Vancouver baby moon throughout the month of February 2015, we will offer you 15% on your stay subject to availability.
